Detail picture of Dublin model. (Most of the houses are less than 1/2" high) This was the older section of the city which dated back to Viking times. The gables of all the houses faced onto the street. A distinctive feature of early medieval towns.

Model of an early medieval wooden castle. These forts were built in the wake of the Norman invasion of England and were swiftly replaced with stone structures. Built for BBC.

One of a series of interactive displays explaining the operation of a 19th century corn mill. Each interactive device allowed children to operate a mechanism which explained the priciple involved. In this case, how the water wheel drove gears that operated the grinding wheels.
The devices were built in a 19th century style using old sewing machine parts to remain in keeping with the mill building.
